Application Process

Once we have received your application, the admissions team will process it in the following manner:

Step One - Review

The University Studies Admissions Team will review your application, including your personal statement and qualifications. Please note, if you have applied for a part time or access course, you will need to send your personal statement directly to the admissions team at universitystudiesadmissions@easterneducationgroup.ac.uk.

Step Two - Assessment

Students that require additional support may need to complete a health or welfare assessment. This is to identify any additional support need you might require whilst studying at USWSC. If these apply to you, welfare assessments are arranged directly by the Welfare Team who will make contact with you. Health assessments and residency checks will be emailed directly to you to complete and return to the University Studies Admissions Team.

Step Three - Interview

Some of our courses require you to attend an interview.

Interviews are an opportunity to meet the course director, ask any questions you may have and use gain a greater understanding of the course. It will also be our chance to discuss why you have chosen your course and determine your suitability. If you are required to attend an interview, details will be sent via email.

Step Four - Offer

If you are successful, offers are updated through ‘UCAS Track’ (full-time Bachelors degree courses only) and we will send a confirmation email to you directly. There are four types of offers:

Unconditional - These offers mean that you have already met the entry requirements, so the place is yours if you choose to accept it.

Conditional - This type of offer will show the conditions you must meet to get your place confirmed. They could be a combination of grades, activities, residency or health and welfare assessments. For most people, this means waiting for results day in summer to see if your exam results meet the conditions.

Withdrawn - A withdrawn application means your application has been withdrawn by either you or the university. The reason will show up in on your application – It might be that you have not responded to emails/letters sent or missed an interview.

Unsuccessful - An unsuccessful application means you were not offered a place on the course. This may be because you did not meet the entry requirements for your chosen course or there may be a better suited course for you.

For more information on what your offer means visit this handy guide provided by UCAS:

What my offer means

Step Five - Respond

To secure your place, you must accept your offer via your UCAS hub. The deadline for this depends on when you submitted your UCAS application.

If you applied for a part-time or access course, you can accept your offer by emailing us at universitystudiesadmissions@easterneducationgroup.ac.uk.

Step Six - Confirmation

Once you accept your offer, we will email you to confirm your place and request any results and/or other evidence that we may need to finalise the process.

We may need you to provide certificates for some qualifications. This is particularly relevant for adult learners. If you are required to provide additional evidence, we will contact you directly.

Step Seven - Enrolment and Induction

We will stay connected with you with information about your course, key dates, and recommended learning content. In the few weeks before your course start date, we will contact you with details on how to enroll and when to attend your Induction.
